Eating raw meat, chicken, turkey, or fish is important because when animal foods are heated the chemical structure of the fatty acids, and the structure of the amino acids changes to something to something that is not as easily accessible or digestible by the body. Its important to eat animal protein, its more important to have it digested by the body so that it can be used to build muscle.
Personally I like ground meats, digests easily, and there are many mixes that can be made with raw ground meats. It is important to know when eating ground meat raw buy the highest quality meat that you can or buy steak and grind it yourself. Some supermarkets will grind meat and leave it in the tray all day, any left over meat is put in the fridge, and then put out again the next day. Especially when first starting make sure you buy the best ground meat you can find. I have eaten some not so ideal ground meats, when I was traveling, but it takes some time to build to that.
Fingerman’s Favorite
Scramble two eggs in a bowl, preferably free range and fertile. Mash some meat of your choice into the eggs, I like turkey or chicken, a good red meat is bison, then add some raw honey, and make sure it is raw honey. There’s your dish-time to eat!
Scramble two eggs in a bowl, add the meat of your choice, is a separate bowl make a fresh salsa chop finely, onions, tomatoes, jalapenos, and add to meat and eggs!
There are some tools for the raw food kitchen, one is a called a dehydrator. It is a plastic box with shelves, plug in the electricity, and a fan blows hot air into the dehydrator and dries the food at a specified temperature. Make sure not to go over 108 degrees, I stay at 100 or 105 just to be sure. Using the dehydrator all meats can be dried raw, easy to take on the go like jerky. I just put pieces of chicken or turkey (my preferred meats, high protein, low fat) on the rack and dry for a couple of hours. You can mix things up a little, add your own spices, hot peppers, chili powder, garlic fresh or dried, onions. Experiment with a variety of things you like to dry meats and turn your tasty treats into meals! Simplicity is best!
Raw dairy is also a natural raw food rich in all kinds of vitamins. Many people who can’t drink raw milk do fine with raw milk. I like goat milk, its lower in fat, high protein. I actually like to ferment the milk before I drink it, get it from my farmer, and leave it in the fridge for about a week or so, then put some in the blonder, add a little honey and some raw cacao, and blend it together. A tasty and filling treat.
Raw cottage cheese, bee pollen, a couple of raw eggs, and some honey make a nice mix, its what I mixed up for Kevin post workout. I don’t know if a little fat is good or bad after a workout, try a few things and see what works for you, and understand things change with the seasons, and workouts, sometimes it might work for you and sometimes it might not.
Buy a 1/2 lb or so of Salmon, put it on the plate, squeeze some fresh lemon on top, cut up some scallions, and some pear, add ontop of the fish, and eat!-low fat high nutrient meal!
Get ahold of some dark buckwheat honey, put it over a steak, whether cow or bison, and dehydrate. You can also put it on a plate and dehydrate on a radiator in your home, or over a heat vent in the winter, vent on the floor. In the summer it works to put the plate in your car and dry, or in the sun on a black surface, cover it with some tinfoil so bugs don’t eat it before you do! I have also built drying racks in my windows to use during the summer.
Raw milk, and some eggs, blended together, add a little honey to taste-good mix.
Some nonanimal food stuff:
Fruit Guacomole
Mash an avocado in a bowl with some water, add pre cut tomatoes, jalapenos, and onions, cut up some banana, and mix all into the avocados. You can even add some crushed red pepper for kick!
Enough for now, I’ll shoot some vids about some of the above stuff and go over some techniques to make doing all of this a little easier!
Thanks for staying in tune!
